Sealers & Repellants Overview
WVCO Sealers, including EPW, Waxlor, UPMS, and RedDip Sealer, are designed to seal the ends of cut lumber. The sealer reduces checking and splitting in decks of dimensional lumber from the time it is stacked at the mill until the customer uses it. The sealers are a sprayable paint that comes in a variety of colors and can be custom color-matched. Red Dip Sealer can also be used in a dipping application for dimensional lumber and laminated veneer lumber.
Composite Board Sealers are resin and wax based sealers designed to be used on the edges of composite boards and OSB to minimize moisture absorption and swelling to maintain dimensional stability. WVCO manufactures CBS as a semi-clear coating while the product Wil-Seal 2002 is available in clear and most other colors.
WVCO's LVL sealer is a water-based sealer used to coat the entire surface of LVL, Laminated Veneer Lumber, to reduce the cupping caused by sun and moisture exposure. Applied onto the wood at the mill, it protects the product against cupping in transport and storage. LVL sealer comes in clear as well as many other colors and can be custom matched to a company's logo color.
Liquid Wrap coating is a remarkable water repellent that causes water to bead up on coated wood. Liquid Wrap was developed to replace the plastic sheeting used to wrap dimensional lumber for transport. It is designed to disappear into the wood as it dries so it is not slippery when wet for safety reasons on construction sites. Liquid Wrap's use has expanded as an ideal wood sealer in many applications of high moisture contact.
RPR is a resin-rich end seal paint used to seal the cut ends of stacked decks of dimensional lumber. Sprayed on at the mill, it protects the wood in transport and storage. It is a remarkably glossy paint that comes in a variety of colors and can be custom color-matched.
